Acoustic guitarist and composer- Zino K together with singer and songwriter- Caroline Agostini, capture the true essence of their musical talent with industry and fans vouching for their destined success. They’re past solo careers influenced today’s sound for Eclectic jazz-fusion including pop reggae, Latin vibes and Sunday Chilled beats... The Duo’s first (E.P) In This Life, unveiled a large following with heads bumping to track – We are one that embodies a strong reggae influence and a sassy vibe, also featured on Zino and Caroline’s Debut Album for 2009. "Zino & Caroline Q & A"

Zino & Caroline Q & A
Friday 11th June, 2010
By Crimson Cat

Many vouch for their destined success. Their debut album release ‘Perfect Time’ demonstrates a free sound of
eclectic style and rhythm.
You both had successful solo careers prior to forming your duo in 2008.
How did you two meet? (Caroline) Online dating ha… No, we met through
pure luck when my name was mentioned to Universal PR through an
acquaintance. Then Zino had a listen to my material and I had a listen to
his material and next thing Universal PR were flying down to Byron Bay
to meet and here we are today.
How do you find working between Melbourne, Lismore and Byron Bay?
It has been a busy few years the life changes with flights to and from
Melbourne and Zino flying up to Byron Bay for our writing sessions in
the serenity of Byron Bay, it took a while to adjust but now we’re in full
swing. A Bristol influence and co-writer, Luc Bernard resides in Lismore
a talented musician and co-writer for Zino and Caroline’s Debut Album
‘Perfect Time’.
What do you do to occupy yourselves when travelling between places?
We probably would spend our time rehearsing, writing new tracks… We also like to take time out and go for
walks and check out the environment of the states and places we visit as much as we can and we always try to
check out the music scene of any genres. An addition to our tour Matt Bray has been great to tour, play and
perform with, adding his influential element to our music.
Where do you call home?
(Caroline Agostini) My home is with my daughter is in the hills of Byron bay, as I rehearse at home she has
started singing harmonies and it’s amazing being 6 years old. When I moved to Bristol at 17 years it has really
inspired where I stand today.
(Zino) We are certainly on the same page here.
You released your E.P ‘In This Life’ in 2009, how was it like recording that album?
(Caroline) It felt like the beginnings of that E.P and collaboration has opened the creative and music flow for our
album to come into remission. It was solidified our writing ability together as a team and as individuals.
(Zino) Great fun at times challenging but we had a great flow and we just kept writing.
What’s the difference between that album and the one you’re about to launch, ‘Perfect Time’?
This is more a real representation of where we are right now with the collaboration of artists who have jumped
on the album and added their spark to the mix including Wylie J, Mikey Chan, Matt Bray, DJ Wasabi. I’m sure this
album will be very well received, as we couldn’t be happier with it.
According to Reverb Nation, you’re currently ranked fourth best jazz artist in Melbourne, how do you feel about
that?
Oh, its great we feel very happy about that and it’s a lovely feelings for us to know everyone is enjoying our
jazzy vibe mixed with our reggae, electro acoustic. It feels great
You not only conquered Australia, but also overseas such as the US, Canada and the UK. What’s the most
bizarre thing that has happened to you?
Both of us have come from big cities with a large musical influence.
(Zino) Russia where I’m from holds a strong European music focus.
(Caroline) I totally agree bringing the element of jazz, reggae roots, trip - hop from Bristol for me, I think our
music represents all those elements in a sense.
(Caroline) Most bizarre thing for me was being discovered by Universal PR and here we are now. Most bizarre
moment is signing with management Universal PR.
(Zino) There are so many moments in my music career that are bizarre, but one that stands out was, when
touring New Zealand as a solo artist and forgetting my guitar at the airport arriving at the venue for sound-check
and realising my guitar was still at the airport. The following 45 min was a high speed drive with five people I am
happy to save the guitar is safe and well
What is your favourite cover song to perform?
So Depressed – Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Unfinished symphony – Massive attack
You also write original music, where do you get your inspiration?
(Zino) All our tracks on the Debut Album ‘Perfect Time’ are originals. The inspiration for me is writing music
through everyday life, love, relationships and what we draw in from that.
(Caroline) Oh yes just life, experience emotion the changes we go through personal all levels musical.
What song would you say best represents you?
I believe in love – it’s a song that represents that everybody in life hits the ground and its represents real we
something we all exp we fall down we get back up we fall down get back up. Its very poetic and it real!
