Feeling a bit camera shy

ZKing of Hearts (ZKOH) formerly known as Daddy Roots was born on April 23, 1977 in Anguilla, British West Indies. ZKOH started to play drums and writing songs at a very young age to the delight of those who witnessed this bright new star in action. People began to take notice of his ability and he was asked to appear at Anguilla's biggest international festival, Moonsplash, for a few years while still in his teens. Performing live with the likes of Freddie McGregor, Tony Rebel, Third World and many other Reggae legends, ZKOH has earned much respect throughout the Caribbean for his strong vocal range and stage presence.

ZKOH’s religion is love and his reaction to anger and hatred is to walk away with love in his heart and a smile on his face. ZKOH believes that around the corner of depression lies hope and his songs titles including "Love And Honor", "I Am At Peace With Myself", "Walk Away From War", “ Happiness” and "Moving On" express his philosophy of peace and harmony for everyone.

2002-2005 TOURING: In June 2002, ZKOH aka Daddy Roots embarked on his first North American tour with his first album “Love and Honor” spreading his message of love, honor and respect from California to Texas and through on to Oregon, Washington, Las Vegas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, New Orleans, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arkansas. Radio deejays loved him when they saw him perform live and ZKOH was invited back by promoters again to tour the festival, club and college circuit later that year and for 2003-2004. Some tour highlights included festival appearances at Indiana's Kneadmore Reggae with Toots and the Maytals, John Brown Body and headlining Kalamazoo, Michigan's Island Fest. ZKing of Hearts also perform and record in the Caribbeans; in Anguilla on a regular basis as well as in St. Martin for their cultural and Bob Marley festivals in between his overseas tours.

In July and August 2005, Zking of Hearts aka Daddy Roots went to Ghana, Africa upon the invitation of Panafest to perform at their Emancipation Day as well as on a “MAMA AFRICA AKWAABA (welcomes) DADDY ROOTS“ tour to surrounding beaches and villages. He also appeared for interviews and performed in several TV programs like Metro TV and radio shows.

In the Fall of 2005, ZKOH aka Daddy Roots did a mini tour in Asia and Eastern Europe including Malaysia and Nepal for their Festival of Lights Holidays (October/November), and at the Zagreb Reggae Festival in Croatia (December).

TV and FILM CONTRIBUTION AND APPEARENCES: You can see ZKOH in two international television appearances including Travel Channel's "Best Beaches 2005" segment and NBC's "Today Show special on Anguilla" (November, 2004).

In 2005 ZKOH aka Daddy Roots' song, "Magar Goat", was in the movie "Broken Flowers" starring Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange, a major film produced by Focus Features. “ Magar Goat” was also used in a Canadian TV Lifetime Movie “Fugitive”. He also has a song, "It's All Good" on the soundtrack of "Rastafarian Dreaming" documentary, an independent film produced in Toronto, Canada and shown around in Reggae Festivals in the United States.

2001 “Two Sides of Love-Chapter One”;
2002 “Love and Honor”;

2006-Zking of Hearts aka Daddy Roots won BEST REGGAE VOCALIST 2006 at the Los Angeles Music award online where Gwen Stefani and Black Eye Peas got one of their earlier awards from.
