Zoe Hazel, providing a guitar-based set of lovely, soulful songs, thoughtful lyrics with well-crafted music and soft but powerful vocals. - Kaye Sarah Inglis
Zoe Hazel brings us original songs, bitter-sweet lyrics, sultry singing and tuneful guitar picking, all creating an air of melancholy mystery that is both poignant and uplifting - some of her songs are sung in Spanish and Catalan ( a regional language spoken in the area around Barcelona - that's where she used to live ) - Donald Shier

She's tri-lingual (sings in three languages), is easy to recognise by her flower and is generally very nice - and she sings and plays her quiet but catchy songs beautifully. A relative newcomer to the worlds of music, and Brighton, she is one of the few, if not the only, Scottish/Catalonian singer/songwriters in town

'Live Life’ by Zoe Hedderwick is a beautiful track, one that pulls fairytales back from childhood dreams. With tones that carry a long list of emotions and influence from artists like KT Tunstall, Hedderwick’s voice seems to speak of pain, but that sorrow has a sweet sound, one that surely rivals those that influence her. - Andrew Nicholls

Bio
I'm Scottish but grew up in Catalunya (north of Spain) since I was three. Based in Brighton since September 2011. I'm a singer songwriter and write in Catalan, Spanish and English.
I've always been fascinated by what we are all looking for or hope and think we want.. After finishing school in 2010 in Spain..I had no plans for my future, I bought a guitar and started doodling and writing little thoughts in my notebooks.. That led me to writing every day, being very prolific and interested in how melodies and lyrics can effect move us so much. I moved to Brighton in September 2011 and began performing. I've played lots of different venues around Brighton. Had a star submission in the SQ sound: http://sqmagazine.co.uk/2012/10/sq-soundcloud-showcase-october-part-1/
Played at Oxjam in late October.
I've recently done two Radio Reverb interviews:

http://liveinbrighton.podomatic.com/entry/2013-02-11T10_05_34-08_00 My interview starts at min 35.
Also played at the Dean street Jubilee party, the Cider Festival in August, played a couple of times at The Latest Musicbar, once supporting Gazz Marlow from INME and one for Intimate Brighton. Played at The Hare and Hounds, a few times at The Brunswick, once for Brighton Folk, played at the Folk Off at the Fiddlers Elbow plus many more.
I volunteered last year at The Great Escape doing pannels and learnt a lot and really enjoyed the experience.
A few of my favourite artists are Lissie, KT Tunstall, Joshua Radin, Benjamin Francis.
I've been told my music could be seen in Soundtracks and films and I believe that is because I paint pictures not with just words, but with melodies and my soft, low rich voice.
