Zooey

Formerly know as a series of wingdings (see pictures), Zooey is a new, entirely electronic project with influences drawn from pop, harsh noise, Scandinavian metal and the concept of outsider art. The project began in the summer of 2011 and was born into the world of the Mile End's after-hours, D.I.Y. venues, such as the now defunct Torn Curtain. Since then, Zooey has moved on to collaborate with several local acts including CopCarBonfire, Majical Cloudz (Arbutus), Flow Child (Arbutus), and has performed many times in Montreal and Toronto, recently opening for Grimes and Born Gold (w/ Majical Cloudz). Additionally, Zooey branches out into production, most recently completing the album 'Earth to Friend' by the Pop Winds (released on Arbutus Records in the spring of 2012).
