Zurc & Grime

DJs Zurc & Grime bring a unique combination of live instrumentals and electronic music to the scene. Mixing bass and guitar with sexy house beats is this duo's specialty. Their melodic bursts take you on an energetic journey.

Denver natives, the pair travels to RAW:Salt Lake City to light up the night with their spectacular sound and vivid light show on May 12th. With a bold new take on EDM their showcase will be a must see event that will make you want to dance.

Zurc & Grime took the time to tell us more.

How did this duo start?

Both of us wanted to come up with a project that was based in the future of modern electronic music. With an undying love for live guitar and bass, we feel that it is time to create the DJ set of tomorrow. Live Musicians, DJ’s and producers are now being recognized as one and we wanted to reflect that in our live set.



Who are your biggest musical influences?

The artists and DJs that are the most influential to us are Boombox, Deadmau5, Minus The Bear, Seven Lions and Griz.

Any special story behind your stage name?

As far as coming up with a name, Zurc is the last name of our lead guitarist spelled backwards (Cruz). Grime is because Jesse doesn't shower much.

Describe the type of performance we're going to see at the RAW showcase?

Our RAW showcase will provide a new perspective on EDM music by implementing complex guitar solos, colorful riffs and vibrant bass guitar to a traditional DJ set. We are creating a sensory experience. The audience should want to dance and also enjoy our live performance.



When someone hears your music, how do you want them to feel?

When someone is listening to our music we want them to feel pulled into the future of musician DJs and to be a part of a dance party unlike any they have experienced before.



Why the glasses? Did you make them yourselves? Do they correspond with the beats?

The glasses help create our signature look and give us a sense of identity. Zurc & Grime isn't just about music, its about a vibrant live environment where people can party, dance, & enjoy the moment. They were built by a friend of ours at a university in Colorado. We are currently working on synchronizing the glasses with our sounds, which will enhance our performance even more.



What's the ultimate goal for DJs Zurc & Grime?

The ultimate goal for Zurc & Grime is to create fresh new sounds and revolutionize the culture of EDM. We would like to be known as the DJs of tomorrow and contribute to this new era of music. - RAW features
