Bio

Zzen is a Rock band from Toronto, ON. With influences ranging from Led Zepplin & Guns n Roses for Classic Rock riffs and NIN, Depeche Mode, Nirvana for the grimy, grungy melodies. Zzen started as an exclusively Pakistani Prog/Metal band, but has since evolved their sound into a more classic vibe with songs like Molly taking front stage.

Formed in 2005, Zzen has played venues such as Nathan Philips Square, Harbourfront Center, Hershey Center, Mississauga Town Square and many others all over the GTA and surrounding.

Brian Vegas fronts the band with an enigmatic stage presence and heaping doses of energy. Catchy melodic hooks, clever lyrics and very singable songs accompanied by guitaring skills that see a combination of technique, feel and just instrument savvy churn out results that leave ears melting and crowds asking for more.

Salman Hussain provides a very tight, rhythmic groove and amazing pipes on lead/backing vocals. His technically savvy, but smooth bass playing envokes the need to jump and move along with every song.

Zzen has been fortunate enough to share stage with many of the great acts of the Pakistani music scene as well as the North American scene play alongside acts like Aberdeen, Josh, RDB, Noori and Junoon to name a few.

In spring 2008, Zzen was featured in an article in the Toronto Star’s Desi Life magazine and their song premiered as the first Pakistani Metal song to ever get played on 102.1 FM The Edge. Zzen continued into summer 2008 playing a packed Dundas Square at Desifest 08.

Since then, Zzen had entered into the studio to record their debut album as a self-produced venture. Zzen is currently writing and performing songs in English and Urdu.
