Bio

Tameka 'Big Baby' Goodman has been performing professionally for more than 20 years, singing her own renditions of American Soul, Jazz, and Blues at festivals, charitable events, private functions, and various venues around the world, most recently appearing at the Melkweg Festival in February of this year (2015) in Amsterdam Netherlands.

Originally a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2006 this soul sensation made her way to Memphis, TN to jolt her singing career and marry herself with the unforgettable Memphis Soul Sound and nailed it to where she became know as the go to session singer for the famous Willie Mitchell Royal Studios to give what many recording artists from around the world considered the gritty Memphis Soul feel for their recording projects. Most recently in 2012, Big Baby lent her incredible vocal chops to Stax Legend William Bell's remake of the popular classic 'I Forgot to be your lover' also featuring Rapper Snoop Dogg on the sound track and documentary Take Me To The River

No stranger to the traveling blues circuit, Big Baby has traveled with such greats as Bobby Blue Bland, Teenie Hodges, Little Milton, Ruby Wilson, Earl The Pearl, Ann Hines, J. Blackfoot, The Bo-Keys, and the Famous Hi Rhythm Section of Hi Records and Royal Studios, just to name a few. Most recently (June 2015), Big Baby was recognized by the Memphis Juneteenth Chapter as the Blues Artist Of The Year and selected to be a part of an international film documentary, celebrating 'Women in Blues' in collaboration with Australian Film Company U N Me Film Company and The Memphis Blues Society.

In between lending vocal chops to others in studio sessions and on road tours, Big Baby has also managed to build a solo career of her own with 2 solo albums to her professional credit, Talk No More (2006) and The Big Baby Live Experience Volume 1 (2014), recorded live at the The Stax Museum of American Soul Music. And with no signs of slowing down, this Memphis Soul Music legend in the making will be releasing her third solo  and highly anticipated album entitled 'Soul Therapy' in the fall of this year (2015). Fans across the country should expect great things from this Lady of Soul, Jazz, and Blues.
