"Tangerine and Blue album review 5/5! (2015)"

Darrelle London is a Indie Pop singer/songwriter from the lovely city of Toronto, Ontario. Her music career has taken her across Canada playing shows and performing alongside some of her inspirations. Some of Darrelle London’s music has been featured on Much Music, ET Canada and the soundtrack to the TV series ‘90210’. With Darrelle’s new music being embraced by more and more people, she is now becoming known on a international level.

Darrelle London has released a new album titled ‘Tangerine & Blue’ on March 25th, 2015. This album features ten full length tracks that all demonstrates the passion Darrelle has for singing and songwriting. After listening to the album a few times throughout the day, I can honestly say that I fully enjoyed listening to it and even repeated a few songs. My top two songs from the album were ‘Viral’ (track two) and ‘Tangerine and Blue’ (track ten). The song ‘Viral’ is an uplifting, fast song that will get stuck in your head with its super catchy lyrics. ‘Tangerine and Blue’ is an acoustic song that sounds amazing with Darrelle’s beautiful vocals and lyrics that make the song flow nicely. Be ready to hear more great things from Darrelle London in the near future.

Rating: 5/5 - Canadian Beats

"Tangerine and Blue Album Review - 2015"

“…While the remaining second half of the album is never quite as witty as the first, it does a better job of showcasing London as an artist that should be known for more than her offhand remarks—as delightful as they are. A handful of slower tracks shake off a mold before it sets, taking her from talking about making it to showing it.” - GrayOwl Point

"Darrelle London's River Run Concert Review"

"If you entered this concert in any type of funk, you were guaranteed to come out of it with a happy face. That’s just the kind of act Darrelle is!" - Velvet Rope Magazine

"Eat A Peach album Review"

Inspired by the T.S. Eliot poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, which contains the line “Do I dare to eat a peach?” the album is full of Darrelle’s piano pop sensibilities reminiscent of Ben Folds. Darrelle’s music is striking in the playful manner that it addresses the tougher things in life like break ups and heartache, wrapping the achingly honest lyrics in a soft blanket of catchy melodies, sweet “oohs”, and finger snaps. It seems to be, in the end, less about making light of one’s tragic situation and more about choosing to be in control of one’s attitude toward it, as suggested in her song Fine, where she sings, “It’s my choice to be fine.” - Apt613

"Interview with Artist Direct"

Darrelle London is a piano-pop songstress who is set to release her sophomore record, Eat a Peach on November 7, 2012. She's Toronto-based and was praised by Perez Hilton early in her career. All those things make us like her and are the reasons we invited her in the ring for a Take Aim. Here's what we learned...

If you were not doing music, you'd be...

After undergrad I got into law school, but decided to pursue my music career instead. So I guess I would be a lawyer. I was always interested in the ethics and philosophy side of studying law.

Any non-musical skills/hobbies/talents?

I recently realized that I like painting. I needed some images for my CD cover, so I bought some paint and paint brushes and started painting peaches and trees! Those are the only things I can paint so far, but I find it very relaxing.

Pick one song from Eat a Peach and share a writing or recording story we'd only know because you just told us! Something intimate and colorful, please!

The line in "Spaghetti" about getting drunk and missing the dance was about a night in university when I drank too much tequila and missed my formal. My date, Trevor, left me on the bathroom floor of his friend's house, where I woke up a few hours later, mortified. I didn't change Trevor's name in the song.

How did it feel to get "love" from Perez Hilton who is so critical? How about winning the Lilith contest?

Perez is a brutally honest person, so getting his endorsement meant a lot to me. He only posts what he feels strongly about, and I'm just fortunate that he connected with my music. I owe a lot to him.

Winning the Lilith contest was a huge honor, because I've loved Sarah McLachlan for a very long time. Meeting her was amazing, she was so gracious and encouraging. Lilith was also the first concert I ever attended back when I was 12, so it was a cool, full-circle kind of moment. - Artist Direct
