"Exposed Vocals"

Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

DOE BOY CUTTY: 1st before I say anything wanna say thank you to God for all he has, will and is about to bless me with. Now let's get it going. I heard about it thru my mangament team and doing some networking.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

DOE BOY CUTTY: I'm from Knoxville, Tennessee Volunteer State reppin that 865 all day. I grew up in a lower income community some people call it THE DALE, a small project in the city the enviroment is pretty much the same as the rest of the projects in the world. Crips, drugs, murder, homicide and etc. I decided too start rappin in the 6th grade I always had a passion for music of all kinds and thought rappin was in my blood. I feel like I was born to do this it was a gift God blessed me with and I'm great at it.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

DOE BOY CUTTY: I started off going by the nickname my homeboys would call BOSSSMAN CUTTY the pimp in the movie DEAD PRESIDENTS because I always had a roster full of attractive women on my team, I flipped it about 2 years ago to DOE BOY CUTTY Doe BOY meaning I'm about getting paid making money anyway you wanna say it plus I gained some weight on me over the years and I just carried over the CUTTY with it, I thought it had a clean sound when you say it.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

DOE BOY CUTTY: To eaches on when it comes to online sharing depends on the situation and what i'm trying to do. I never give my music away for free I look at this as my real job and i'm up at all times of the night writing putting in work to make money not give it away. Even when it's my time to talk to these labels my publishing is a big deal to me.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

DOE BOY CUTTY: HELL YEAH MYSELF. Lol not really some of the people I kow don't have the desire to be on the level I'm trying to get on they're content wit being local trying to be the man in they city, DOE BOY CUTTY I'M TRYING TO BE THE MAN all over the Country plus get that overseas Gwap.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

DOE BOY CUTTY: So far never made a mistake knock on wood. I rehearse go over my rhymes everyday to the point when i;m not realizing i'm doing it. I try to be flawless and i'm serious about my music because I want to make sure my fans are getting their money worth. But if I did man I just keep going til everything gets back on track.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

DOE BOY CUTTY: Did a tour with COAST2COAST in Atlanta performed one of the signles from my album i'm working on called KICK ROCKS. The crowd and the energy was off the chain. ATLANTA showed me some real love. When I was walking off the stage all the DJs and other beat producers was throwing me cards and tracks to spit on. My management team must have left with 30 something tracks and busniess cards. It was crazy even got a standing ovation.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

DOE BOY CUTTY: My songwriting inspiration comes from life experiences or issues with this world, or just me being creative to be different then the rest of the rappers out now. I'm not trying to spit about anything what these other rappers are doing i'm on something different. My process is always pray 1st to the man upstairs and give him the BIGGEST THANKS for blessing me with this talent, then it's straight me pen and pad somewhere I can listen to the track i'm writing to and zone out.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

DOE BOY CUTTY: I have my own website www.doe-boycutty.com you can find me on reverbnation, facebook DOEBOYCUTTY, INSTAGRAM DOYBOYCUTTY, myspace DOEBOYCUTTY, and my manager twitter page @nicolescouter.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

DOE BOY CUTTY: None to be honest I only listen to people I feel like can make good music.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

DOE BOY CUTTY: Half a million before I spent a dime I would invest that money into my follow up project my music making sure all my tracks and studio time video production tour was paid off then spend time with my beautiful wife and our kids I'm big on family probably host a BBQ gathering for my community.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

DOE BOY CUTTY: No upgrades the only upgrading I plan on doing is when one of these labels put me in a million dollar studio.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

DOE BOY CUTTY: Gotta get my music out to these DJs on the radio and in the clubs plus I have a strong street team behind me so they're always sending tracks out to be on the hottest mixtapes and social media my network is gonna make me millions for my networth!

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

DOE BOY CUTTY: Anywhere is cool with me as long as it's a crowd of people trying to turn up and if the money is right. Being from the south I would like to drop some track with EightBall & MJG, Bun B, YO GOTI, DIRTY BOYS, Pastor Troy, Lil Jon, Future, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, NAS, DMX. I feel like I could make some classic music with these dudes.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

DOE BOY CUTTY: I'm currently working on my album STACKIN MONEY 2 DA CEILING. 1ST single is in the process of being distrubted to the DJs and radio stations, online itunes and amazon. It's a bangin track for the clubs for you to ride and bump or just listen to over and over and over again.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

DOE BOY CUTTY: I can't even think that way it's in my DNA to do music so I can't even respond to that.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

DOE BOY CUTTY: My 1st album was Eightball & MJG COMING OUT HARD, Man when I heard that beat for MR. BIG I told myself this is what i'm gonna be doing it's my calling.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

DOE BOY CUTTY: Easy I keep God 1st my family and music 2nd money 3rd and anything after that will just fall in line.
