"Ezko "Peace of the P.I.E." (Peace In Existence)"

One need not implement glitz and grandeur in music to grasp just that. Clearly a traditionalist at heart, emcee Ezko graced us yesterday with a simple and precious set of visuals for “Piece of the P.I.E (Piece In Existence)”, a jazzy track that coasts along to the tune of deep bass, laid-back drums and sparse piano chords.

Ezko paces himself fruitfully atop such wondrously uncomplicated instrumentation, toying with rhyme schemes as he attempts with success to assert his presence and existence in this world we live in. Peace meets music on this record, and I’ve met an artist who has me patiently waiting for more.

"Ezko - Piece of the P.I.E. (Peace In Existence)"

Like most other emcees, Maryland up-and-comer Ezko is out to get his Piece of the P.I.E. For him, however, the baked dessert is not a metaphor for money and power, but an acronym for his true goal: “Peace in Existence.” On this freshly-minted promo single, the rhymesayer acknowledges that his quest for material comforts has brought him as much pain and suffering as it has pleasure (“Lord help me, I’m slowly losin’ myself / to the love of drugs, liquor, women and wealth.”), and pledges to find satisfaction by pursuing excellence on the mic. Esta provides a jazzy, sampled backdrop for the emcee’s contemplative bars. This joint isn’t attached to a larger set, but fans can keep their browsers locked for the latest on Ezko’s next project, the currently unscheduled Coming of Age LP.

"Ezko - "$truggle Rap$""

With a nod to Rakim straight off, Ezko spits controlled but hard lyrics over a barely audible Honeydrippers drum break chopped nicely by producer Mxhajlov. Hailing from Cameroon, but now resting his head in Gaithersburg, MD, it seems Ezko has a point to make. Life is hard, and through these struggles and tribulations he hopes his listeners bring something positive away from his music.

“Got people overseas can’t speak English tryna rap wit the kid/ Back wit the shizz/ Now I’m back in the biz/ They don’t understand fully what they hearin/ But they like what it is.”- Ezko!

Combining a 90′s lyrical style and a personal philosophy that is braggadocios while remaining positive, “$truggle Rap$” is no throw back, but fits nicely in today’s Beast Rap world. Ezko sits nicely by himself on a shelf, setting his own pace and making his own rules while keeping DMV (that’s DelMarVa) on the map. With two previous tunes, “Coming of Age” and “Temple of Mind” getting the thumbs up from the Hip Hop community, this track is the trifecta that makes it official. Seriously, as if Ezko isn’t official enough. Not your average rapper, he is bringing something fresh to the game. Keep a watch out for dude, he’s making moves like a ninja. Turn around, and he’ll be right there killing it. - Flea Market Funk
