1000 Islands Music Festival 2009 (Gananoque, Ontario)

Play in one of Ontario's largest music festivals of 2009!



The 1000 Islands Music Festival, in Gananoque, Ontario, celebrates diversity in music, and will showcase several Canadian and International artists, from grassroots artists to some of North America’s largest headliners including Akon, Simple Plan, Kardinall Offishall, The Official Blues Brothers Revue, Faber Drive, 10 Second Epic, NLX, and dozens more. This year’s event will be August 13-15, 2009. They are accepting all genres of music, however their focus is on rock, R&B, and roots music. Selected Sonicbids artists will receive a minimum compensation of $300. Travel will not be provided, but there is potential for accommodations on a per-case decision.



Over 25 artists will play the festival, and there are 2 stages; one is an emerging artist stage, and the other features headliners and other acts. They are expecting over 8,000 people to attend the festival this year. The festival is essentially replacing the now defunct Festival of the Islands. In past years, the Festival of the Islands had played host to such acts as The Doobie Brothers, Hedley, Theory of a Deadman, The Headstones, Moist, The Tea Party, and several others.
