Summary

The 2006 Midwest Music Summit will be held in Indianapolis, IN, August 10-12, 2006. The Midwest Music Summit has become one of the PREMIER festivals for emerging artists and music business networking. Last year’s attendance was more than 16,000!

Artist submissions for this year’s event are open to all genres of music. And when we say ALL, we mean it. The MMS features a variety of genre specific events including indie rock, bluegrass, metal, punk, hip hop, experimental, singer/songwriters, electronic, ambient, roots and just about any other new type of music you can come up with.

The MMS takes place at over 25 nightclubs in Indianapolis including Broad Ripple Village, Downtown Indy and Fountain Square. In 2005, the MMS featured 478 acts on 30 stages (137 of those acts were Sonicbids members). This year more than 300 bands and solo acts will play at MMS. There are at least 50 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be given conference credentials for each band member.

Past Performers include: Tegan & Sarah, Juliana Hatfield, Cat Power, Ambulance Ltd, Robbers On High St., KRS-One, Longwave, Dead 60’s, Rachel Yamagata, Zero Boys, Ice 9, Grace Potter, Fruit Bats, Marc Farina, VHS or Beta, Louis XIV, Buckwheat Zydeco, Rhymefest, Hockey Night and hundreds more. Just over 1435 bands have performed at the MMS in just 6 short years.

Companies represented at previous events include: Atlantic Records, Kill Rock Stars, SpinART, Columbia Records, Interscope, Secretly Canadian, Amazon.com, E! Entertainment Television, The Chop Shop, XM Radio, Bloodshot Records, Yep Roc, AdVice, ASCAP, Rhapsody, Midway Games, Hollywood Records, Geffen, WOXY.com, Clear Channel, Double Door, Island/Def Jam, No Depression, HARP Magazine, Performing Songwriter Magazine, Yamaha, Washburn and hundreds more.

Please note: The MMS actually listens to each and every artist that is submitted. Although it is tough to provide feedback to everyone, we do our best.

There is a 99% chance you will not “get signed” by playing this event. We like to be up front and realistic. If you are looking to play before an interesting crowd of music fans and music industry professionals that can help further your career goals, then you have come to the right place.
