2009 Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Conference

The Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Conference supports and showcases independent women in the arts regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. They will be showcasing the best women in the independent music, performance poetry, story telling, and comedy industries at their 2009 conference from August 21-23, 2009, located in Nashville, TN at the beautiful Hotel Preston. Women and men are welcome to attend the conference. Individual artists that are submitting to showcase must identify as a female, and groups must be female fronted.



The 2009 Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Conference will provide an excellent opportunity for all women in the arts, booking agencies, venues, industry professionals, businesses supporting the arts, and self-represented artists to gather together, network, showcase, exhibit and conduct business. Showcasing artists must be members of the Indiegrrl organization, and must register for the conference at a discounted conference pass rate of $65 per member.



The event celebrates "Women in the Arts" and emerging talent with 2 days/nights of showcases on Friday and Saturday from selected original acts and artists. Industry professionals attend as panelists, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts to network, do business and share their experience with the registrants. Over 40 showcase opportunities are available in various categories. The conference will feature 2 days of panels, clinics, workshops, mentoring & demo listening sessions, and vendor exhibit hall trade show on Friday and Saturday.



Selected showcase artists must have their conference registration forms and conference fees sent in by April 30 or an alternate will be selected. This speedy process is to give Indiegrrl adequate time to send out press releases announcing their showcase artists and to invite A&R representatives and booking management to view the showcases.



Performers selected to appear at the 2009 Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Conference will have their artist information and web site links featured at www.indiegrrl.com on the special conference page. Indiegrrl members are also listed on the Indiegrrl Member page with a link to their websites as long as their membership stays in good standing. Please make sure your Sonicbids EPK is complete and up-to-date.



Please Note: Artists that are submitting to showcase must also be a paid member of Indiegrrl in good standing or must join Indiegrrl at the time of showcase submission. Indiegrrl membership is $30 annually. Your submission will not be complete without paying for your membership and mailing your membership form in to the Indiegrrl office. If membership payment is not submitted to Indiegrrl, your showcase submission will not be reviewed and you will forfeit your $20 showcase submission fee.
