About the film:

The South Street Diner, in the city's downtown Leather District, is notable for a number of reasons, but the one that springs to mind for most Boston residents - particularly students, waitstaff and club-goers - is that it's always open, 24 hours a day.

They'll spend a full 24-hours in the diner, shooting from midnight on a Friday night through midnight on Saturday. They'll speak to regulars who've been coming for years, and to tourists making their first visit to South Street.

Along the way they'll interview owner Sol Sidell about the history of the diner - from its inception as a place for local factory workers through to its current incarnation as an after-hours hotspot. It's a fascinating story about the changing face of Boston.

Here's what they'll do with the movie when it's finished:

They intend to take the finished movie to US film festivals in 2012 - not least to the Independent Film Festival of Boston (iffboston.org). Other targets include SXSW, Sundance and True/False.
