Summary

The W.C. Handy Music Festival is a week-long celebration of great music, that honors the memory of the “Father of the Blues,” W.C. Handy. The festival has been named a “Must See” event on the Year of Arts Destination Roster for 2007. The festival, which includes over 200 events, will be held during the week of Sunday, July 22-Saturday, July 28, 2007 in the Shoals (Florence-Muscle Shoals-Sheffield-Tuscumbia) area of northwest Alabama.

Three of the events will be sponsored and produced by PapaGottaGroove at 2ndHalf Studio of Sheffield, AL, and will include several showcase performance opportunities.

Each of the selected showcase artists and bands will receive a professionally produced DVD of their live performance during the festival. The DVD will be engineered and mastered by platinum and gold award winning engineer Gregg Hamm (engineer of albums by Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Dire Straits and many more.)

The music in Muscle Shoals continues, and this is the perfect place for your talent to be discovered in the 2ndHalf! You could be featured as a performer in one of the three showcases: 2ndHalf Studio-Sonicbids “Shoals Showcase” (bands), 2ndHalf Studio-Sonicbids “Songwriter Showcase” (singer/songwriters), or the PapaGottaGroove-Sonicbids Showcase (rock vocalists-guitarists).

There are 3 guaranteed spots for Sonicbids artists! Please note: The national, band and singer/songwriter spots are open to artists from any location in the U.S.A. and internationally, but travel and compensation are not provided. Original or licensed material only, please.
