Summary

35 Denton is a walkable 4-day music festival programmed in the heart of downtown Denton – the other, smaller, music town in Texas -- March 7-10, 2013. Run by a core staff of volunteers, 35 Denton boasts a history of diverse lineups and aims to promote an eclectic array of artists while stimulating community growth that transcends the event itself.

35 Denton incorporates indoor and outdoor programming-- with over 10 participating venues and 2 outdoor stages-- all located in the very walkable downtown area surrounding our historic Courthouse on the Square. Previous venues include Hailey’s, Rubber Gloves, Dan’s Silverleaf, Andy’s Bar, The Labb, Banter, J & J’s, Sweetwater, Mellow Mushroom, and Denton Square Donuts. Previous performers include The Flaming Lips, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Built to Spill, Midlake, Big Boi, Reggie Watts, Best Coast, Thee Oh Sees, The Mountain Goats, Dan Deacon, Mavis Staples, Bun B, Dr. Dog, Dum Dum Girls, OM, Atlas Sound, Devin the Dude, any many more!!

35 Denton (formerly NX35/35 Conferette) has booked nearly 300 Sonicbids artists since 2009 and has guaranteed to select at least 60 artists in 2013. Selected artists will receive wristbands, food, and drink. Artists are responsible for travel expenses and housing. Visit the 35 Denton website for special rates on Denton-area hotels/motels.

“When a Music Scene Leads to a Boom”

“In the years since the Flaming Lips played, 35 Denton remains volunteer-driven, routinely receives national and international press, registers attendance in the 10,000+ range, and books globally recognized acts like Big Boi, the Jesus and Mary Chain, and Built to Spill. The festival also keeps a tight focus on acts from Denton and the surrounding region. This past March, 244 bands played both the official festival and the unofficial day-parties coinciding with it.” Michael Seman for The Atlantic, May 2012

"Allow Me To Refine The Argument"

"Denton, Texas is the Paradigm of a healthy music community, a possible answer in an increasingly uncertain music industry to the question of how and why quality music will continue to be made." Paste Magazine, Best U.S. Music Scene, December 2008
