4th Annual Independent Music Awards

The 4th edition of the IMA’s, co-sponsored by The Musician's Atlas and Borders Books & Music, promote original, independent music to music press, college & commercial radio programmers, record label a&r, music fans and more than 4.5 million Borders customers. Finalists in 17 music categories will comprise indie artists whose work deserves greater recognition from industry and consumer audiences. Independent Music Award winners will be promoted in the 2005 edition of The Musician's Atlas as well as on the Musician’s Atlas website. In addition, their music will be promoted and marketed to customers of Borders Books & Music and will be featured on a CD sampler distributed to industry representatives, college and commercial radio programmers, press and other broadcast outlets.



This year's judges include: Lucinda Williams, Delbert McClinton, Erykah Badu, Loudon Wainwright III, Will
Ackerman, Victor Wooton, Smog Design (CD packaging design firm) founder Jeri Heiden & photographer Merri Cyr
(famed for her Jeff Buckley shots).



Please note: If you wish to enter into additional music or design categories, there is an additional fee of $25/category.



All entries for:

* Album of the Year must mail a full CD.

* Album Art design category must mail 1 complete album cover with disc – including jewel cases, when appropriate.

* Album Art Photography category must mail the album cover, booklet or back panel card containing the photographic image to be considered clearly indicated.

* Swag (Merchandising) design category must mail 1 item of merchandising (poster, t-shirt, hat, bumper sticker, poster, etc.).
