Summary

Get ready to rock- If you are an unsigned band in Southern California, this could be your big break! This year’s 6th Annual Run Walk and Roll event promises to be a huge success with a Battle of the Bands contest and the Achievable Foundation’s largest group of participants ever. The Battle of the Bands Contest will take place on Sunday, October 7, 2007 on the Avenue of the Stars in Century City. Participating bands will compete for a Grand Prize of $10,000!

This contest is open to all amateur bands of three (3) to five (5) members, all of whom must be residents of California and 18 years of age or older. Bands must be unsigned and not currently have, or at any time had, a contract with a production or distribution company. Open to bands of all genres: Rock, blues, jazz, soul, bluegrass, R&B, hip-hop, latin and any other type of music from Southern California. All genres are encouraged and welcome!

The Battle of the Bands is sponsored and administered by the Achievable Foundation, and consists of two rounds. In the first round, finalists will be chosen by an independent panel convened by the sponsor. Five (5) finalists and two alternates will be selected based on a combination of creativity, artistic style, perceived musical talent, originality, production value and listener enjoyment.

The five finalists will perform at the 6th Annual Run, Walk and Roll on October 7, 2007 in Los Angeles, CA. After all five have performed, all registered participants in The Walkathon will be eligible to vote on the finalists to select one Winner. The band that receives the most votes will win the Grand Prize. First and Second Runners up will also be selected based on their scores and will receive prizes that may include recording time, music accessories and/or blank CDs, to be determined at the time of the event at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.

All prizes will be awarded at the event.

Each of the finalists must be physically present at the Run, Walk and Roll Walkathon and must play a live version of the two songs they are submitting for consideration. Any finalists who are not physically present and ready, willing and able to perform their two (2) submitted songs will be disqualified and replaced with an alternate from the first round.

Finalists are responsible for providing their own instruments and any equipment other than a stage and appropriate sound system. All members of the finalist bands who participated in the creation of the submitted recordings must be present and must perform, or the band may be disqualified.

Bands will retain full right to all material submitted.
