Summary

For the past 25 years, San Diego California’s Adams Avenue Business Association has hosted the Adams Avenue Street Fair, which is Southern California’s largest FREE two-day music festival. Last year's event had an esitmated 100,000 people in attendance over both days.



This year’s event will be held on September 29th and 30th of 2007 and will span six blocks of Adams Avenue with over 300 Food and Arts & Craft Vendors, 3 beer gardens, giant carnival rides, family activities and over 70 live music performances on seven stages. Performing musicians at the 26th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair will be from within the City of San Diego, throughout the region as well as nationally renowned musicians. Visitors will enjoy a variety of music, including blues, roots-rock, rock, world, alt, , reggae, zydeco, alt-country and acoustic.



All artists will be compensated although the amount is commensurate with notoriety and draw in the San Diego market. The Adams Avenue Business Association may provide travel and lodging for a select few performers who travel to San Diego for the 26th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair.



Sponsors for this year include Martin Guitar Company, Brecht MINI, KSDS 88.3 FM Jazz 88, City Beat Magazine, Stone Brewing Company, Culligan Water Company of San Diego, and FM 94/9.



Some of the well-known names who have performed for past Adams Avenue Street Fairs include No Doubt, Lila Downs, Pops Staples, Andy Summers, Pinetop Perkins, Wanda Jackson, Nortec Collective, Dave Alvin, Johnny Johnson, Chris Hellman, Mick Taylor, The Beat Farmers, Cindy Lee Berryhill, Gregory Page, Eve Selis, The Rugburns and Robin Henkel.



Over the past 25 years, the Adams Avenue Street Fair has generated critical acclaim for its focus on rising local, regional, national and international talent, as well as established artists that have altered and influenced generations of musicians.



Please Note: The Adams Avenue Street Fair is open to accepting submissions from national acts although it seeks predominantly local and regional (Southern California) talent.

The Adams Avenue Business Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is “To promote and increase commercial activity within the Adams Avenue Business Improvement District”. This event is hosted as a community event, promotion for the Adams Avenue Business Improvement District and as a fundraising activity.
