Summary

The Adams Avenue Business Association has hosted the Adams Avenue Street Fair, Southern California's largest FREE music festival, for the past 26 years. Last year the event had an estimated 100,000+ people in attendance over both days.

This year's event will be held on September 27 and 28 of 2008 and will span seven blocks on Adams Avenue and one block by Adams Park. There will be over 300 food, arts & crafts and retail vendors, three beer gardens, giant carnival rides, family activities and over 70 live music performances on seven stages. Performing artists at the 27th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair will be selected within the City of San Diego and throughout the region, as well as nationally renowned musicians. Visitors will enjoy a variety of music, including blues, roots-rock, rock, world, alt., reggae, zydeco, alt-country and acoustic.

All artists will be compensated although the amount is commensurate with notoriety and draw in the San Diego market. The Adams Avenue Business Association may provide travel and lodging for a select few performers who travel to San Diego for the 27th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair.

Sponsors for last year include Martin Guitar Company, Brecht MINI, KSDS 88.3 FM Jazz 88, City Beat Magazine, Stone Brewing Company, Culligan Water Company of San Diego, and FM 94/9.

Please Note: The Adams Avenue Street Fair is open to accepting submissions from national acts although it seeks predominantly local and regional (Southern California) talent.

The Adams Avenue Business Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is “To promote and increase commercial activity within the Adams Avenue Business Improvement District”. This event is hosted as a community event, promotion for the Adams Avenue Business Improvement District and as a fundraising activity.
