Summary
Come play at Alice's Jazz and Cultural Society, the most authentic Jazz club in the Washington D.C. area!
The Opportunity
Alice's Jazz and Cultural Society is an intimate Jazz club in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C. that presents live music twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays, 6-9 pm). It's the love-child of Dr. Alice Jamison, who owns the building, and trumpeter, artistic director and building contractor DeAndrey Howard, who spent five years renovating the formerly dilapidated storefront into a friendly, intimate, nonprofit, alcohol-free, soul-food-available space that hosts local bands and all-age (under 12, free) audiences.
The Band
Alice's is looking for genuine performers that play classic Jazz music. No synthesizers or non-upright basses allowed! This is a platform for accomplished Jazz players to play for an audience that appreciates traditional Jazz music.
The Gig
Alice's offers small guarantees to musicians and has a grand piano and PA system in house.
If you're interested in playing our venue, apply and we'll send you availabilities that we think fit your band! Consistent gigs are available.
