AMPLIFY!! Independent Music Comp-Fest originated from a concept & format created in Northern California during 1989, which was known as DDT Productions “Battle of the Bands”. The basic concept was to provide a much-needed local outlet for Nor Cal garage bands to play for large crowds, in turn providing the opportunity to make money not only from a cash prize, but through a friendly ticket split as well. The DDT Battles helped foster a scene for hundreds of bands in Nor Cal during the early 1990’s, which included DEFTONES (yes, its true...) that played the very first few DDT Battles.

A decade later, DDT partner and EAT-M.com Production Mgr, Tim Driver, has formed Production Avenue and developed that old format into the AMPLIFY!! Independent Music Comp-Fest; Geared to provide the latest in music, while educating & informing bands, AND a chance for one band to win over $10,000 in cash & other prizes including a show on the 2006 VANS WARPED TOUR! In addition, the entire event will be filmed for a marketing DVD & Television Pilot to implement a Regional / National promotion in the coming year.

EVENT INFO: August 12, 13, 19 & 20, 2005 at JILLIAN’S on the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Workshop is scheduled for August 11, 2005 @ Sam Ash Music Las Vegas; complete panel to be announced in coming weeks.

BAND INFO: AMPLIFY!! is open to bands in all genres and 45 bands will be chosen to perform; 15 bands at each of the 3 preliminary showcases, with the top 9 scoring bands advancing to final showcase on 4th night. Bands chosen to perform will be announced no later than July 24th 2005, and if chosen to perform, a band must sale a minimum of 25 tickets to retain performance slot. Also, bands that opt to sale more than 25 tickets can do so and receive a percentage of ticket sales sold above the entry amount. AND, $1 from every ticket sold goes directly into the cash pool increasing the cash prize.


• ALL SUBMITTING BANDS RECEIVE: One (1) US Trademark Search of Band Name, inclusive with an Artist Development Handbook of Trademark Info, Copyright Info, and Basic Band Biz 101; mailed once application has been processed. PLUS all bands receive a free band page on www.SmashMagazine.com & Discount Card for select SAM ASH locations.


• ALL 45 BANDS CHOSEN TO PERFORM RECEIVE: Workshop w/ Keynote Speaker CHI CHENG of DEFTONES. Custom Pick Guards by ColoRiffic.com, Ticket Split on a percentage of tickets sold, and working on a Gig bag filled with goodies!!


• ALL 9+ BANDS IN FINALS RECEIVE: Prize Packs to be announced AND…
