Summary
Around the Coyote is a non profit arts organization dedicated to bringing together emerging artists. The biannual festivals feature the newest and best in visual art, music, literary performance, theatre and film/video. This year they are pleased to offer a festival that will kick off on May 2, 2008 and last until May 4, 2008 in correlation with Looptopia, one of Chicago's newest cultural celebrations which drew over 200,000 people last year!
Over 300 painters, sculptors, photographers, installation artists and printmakers will join up with emerging artists from Chicago's theatre, music, literary and film communities to offer a weekend packed full of exhibits, lectures, art tours and performances.
The music portion of this festival will take place at the historic Fine Arts Building in downtown Chicago. While they hope to feature music from a wide range of genres, the music venue for this festival is an intimate hall (with amazing acoustics), so please keep that in mind when submitting your application! Typically, 10-15 artists perform each year.
