The 28th annual Artscape festival will be July 17 - 19, 2009. Artscape is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for General Performance consideration as well as Sound Off!, local/unsigned bands contest. Compensation is offered, but details are negotiated at the time of booking.

The Sound Off! contest is open to unsigned artists from Maryland, Washington DC, and Delaware as well as select cities in Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties and the city of Alexandria) and Pennsylvania (Adams, Chester, Franklin, Lancaster and York counties in Pennsylvania). Five Sonicbids artists will be selected to have their music posted on an online voting platform where Artscape music lovers and fans will be able to vote for their favorite. Voting will run from May 1 to May 31, 2009. The band that receives the most votes will perform at Artscape 2009. The contest winner will receive compensation and a backstage party.
