Summary

The Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) is a national, non-profit, member-based organisation dedicated to the support of songwriters and their art. Founded in 1979, the ASA today has a large, vibrant and diverse membership across Australia, and is well established and highly regarded.

The ASA's Australian Songwriting Contest is the country’s largest and longest running competition for professional and amateur songwriters. Songs are judged on originality and craft. The song does not have to be performed by the songwriter, but it must be original and not signed with a publishing company at the time of entry.

You can submit and receive a professional written critique of your song(s), regardless of whether or not you are selected as a finalist. The service is offered by the ASA for a moderate fee, to assist songwriters grow and develop. The option for a written critique will appear after a purchase has been made.

Feedback requests may not be received until after the National Awards Night. This is due to time demands on ASA staff while the Contest is in progress. To be eligible for member submission prices, you must validate your ASA membership with the username/password provided by ASA for this competition.
