Essentially, their goal is to awaken a fresh enthusiasm for art, live music events and other performances by targeting the entire community with an all-ages, outdoor event. Astoria Music Now! is the first festival of its kind in Queens, giving its residents a rare opportunity to participate in a large-scale cultural event that is only a short train, car or bus ride away. For the past two years, the festival has attracted families, professionals, young and old, exposing a thirst in our neighborhood for inspirational events that allow people to connect with others in their community. The festival has served as a catalyst, igniting the interest of residents who would not otherwise attend such an event to participate in local culture on a grassroots level.
