Aussie Music Festival - Showcase in Second Life

Austrade's Australian Music Office and Cattle Puppy Productions are promoting Australian music by hosting an online event in the 3D virtual world, Second Life. This event will coincide with other Austrade promotional and showcase opportunities planned around America’s biggest music industry conference in Austin, TX.



The idea is to promote Australian music acts to an overseas audience and industry leaders. This is a very special, one-time promotional opportunity using a new and exciting delivery method. There is no cost to attend the online event or to participate as one of the artists. For the Second Life promotional activities, we are looking for Aussie bands that are keen to take advantage of the promotional benefits of virtual performances.



Two Sonicbids artists from Australia will be selected to perform live via their avatar(s) to the gathered online audience.



What is needed:

• A love of live performances
  
  
• Keen interest to experiment with new online technologies
  
  
• Some experience and comfort with the Second Life environment
  
  
• Your own computer for each performer to access Second Life (as well as a broadband internet connection)
  
  
• Available for the virtual event on 15 March 2007 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm AU Eastern Time (and for rehearsals and coordination beforehand)
