Obopay Presents: Austin Concert and the Chance to Win $10,000!

Obopay, a mobile payment service that enables consumers to get, send and spend money from their mobile phones, is offering 10 local Austin bands the opportunity to participate in a FREE competition. The 10 bands will promote this event to their fans and the winners of the competition will be selected based on their total number of votes, which will be tallied through Obopay’s website. The band with the most votes will headline for the show and receive $10,000. The 2nd place winner will open the show and receive $4,000.



Obopay will provide these 10 bands all promotional materials (posters, flyers and digital art work) to encourage fan participation. Promotional materials can be featured on MySpace profiles, email groups or any where promotional materials will be accepted. Fans will be asked to sign up for Obopay and will get $5 when they do. They will then be asked to refer a friend and vote for their favorite band by entering the band's corresponding promotion code. The first 300 fans who vote for the winning bands will receive two free concert tickets to attend the show.



The concert will be held in Austin in early December, with the exact date and location still to be determined.



Please note: This opportunity is open to bands from within 50 miles of Austin. Selected bands must be able to promote the show in Austin.



Also note that bands will be reviewed on a rolling basis. In the event that the ten competing bands are selected prior to the posted deadline of October 27, 2006, the drop box may be closed early.
