Summary

The Australian Blues Music Festival is The National Festival of Australian Blues Music (also fondly known simply as 'Goulburn').

The Festival is held annually in a variety of venues throughout the historic Goulburn CBD on the second (full) weekend of February. The event commences with the annual announcement and presentation of the Australian Blues Music 'Chain' Awards on the Thursday night and culminates in an All-Star Pro-Jam on Sunday night with a die-hards' breakfast on Monday morning. The dates for 2009 are 12-15 February.

This festival showcases 30-40 of the very best of emerging and established blues acts from around Australia and features workshops with the artists, a weekend-long open mic, "Youth in Blues" jam, buskers, vintage guitar and amp shop, markets, and an industry 'meet and greet' exchange forum.

All selected artists will be compensated a negotiable fee. Travel expenses for artists should be included in the performance fee quoted. Accommodation may be provided for selected artists by prior arrangement. Only artists from Australia and New Zealand will be considered

This is a friendly little festival/industry event with intimate performance spaces and plenty of opportunities for patrons to have a chat with their favourite artists.

This Festival enjoys a very high patron loyalty rate of dedicated blues music enthusiasts. Once they've discovered Goulburn they mark February in their diaries to come back every year! Average festival attendance is over 2,000.

It's no wonder the Australian Blues Music Festival in Goulburn, NSW is widely touted as "Australia's peak blues event" and "the top Australian blues venue".
