Avalonfest Performing Songwriter Competition

Avalonfest 2011 takes place August 12-14, 2011 at Avalon, the Mid-Atlantic's premier clothing optional resort near Paw Paw, West Virginia. Sonicbids artists are encouraged to submit 2 original songs in genres including folk, roots, world, contemporary, pop, blues, bluegrass, old time, folk-rock, jazz, and country. The grand prize winner will receive $300, a trophy and a 30 minute performance on Aug. 13 at the festival. Here's what selected artists will get:

• The grand prize winner will receive $300, a trophy and a 30 minute performance on Aug. 13 at the festival.


• The grand prize winner will also receive an invitation to be a paid performer at the 2012 festival.


• All 4 finalists will receive two Avalonfest passes for the weekend.


• All finalists will receive complimentary meals and a campsite for lodging accommodations.

Please note: Artists must submit songs that have not previously been submitted to the Avalonfest Performing Songwriter Competition. Writers will retain all rights to the songs. Entries that include a well-crafted song that refers to getting naked or to the wholesome, egalitarian spirit of naturism, or plays on words that refer to nudity are likely to win the judges (and the audience's) favor.
