Here's your chance to play in one of Canada’s Top 5 most beautiful, affluent neighborhoods: Toronto's charming Forest Hill Village. This year's event, "A Village Affair", is a streetfest with flair, featuring a street sale with bargains at some of Toronto’s most exclusive high end retailers, strolling performers, free samples, cigar rolling, a fashion show, an MC/DJ, and BEST OF ALL a 12-foot stage and full sound system with 4 featured musical acts throughout the day. Two slots on this stage are reserved exclusively for Sonicbids members.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Forest Hill Village (Spadina and St. Clair area). Part of Lonsdale Road will be closed off, and the stage will be positioned facing Spadina for maximum traffic flow. The festival goes from noon until 7:00 PM, and each selected artists will perform a 45 minute set.

Who should apply:

We will only consider artists/bands with 1, 2, or 3 members. Larger bands will not be compatible with staging and sound. Genres can include anything from pop to folk to singer/songwriter to jazz, just make sure that you are family friendly.

Why you should apply:

  • You will gain exposure to Toronto’s biggest movers and shakers. There are a myriad of successful people in the music industry that live in this neighborhood.

  • You will be compensated. The two selected Sonicbids artists will receive $150 Canadian each.

  • You will be featured on the Forest Hill Village website three weeks prior to the event and for one full year after the event. This feature will include pictures and a link to your website.

  • You are encouraged to sell merchandise. The event MC and the designated merch table volunteers will push your product and help you sell throughout the day and while you are performing.
