Barfly's Independent Music Showcase series

Since 2000, Barfly promotions of San Diego, California has worked with over 700 local and unsigned bands had a hand in over 3,000 bookings in San Diego and abroad.



Every Tuesday night, RT’s Longboard Grill in beautiful Pacific Beach, CA has hosted San Diego’s longest running and most popular open mic. Up to 12 local performers come down for sign ups and grace the venue with their music. Artists play to what is generally a packed house of music loving patrons. The series has great talent because they have a great crowd, great sound and great staff, not to mention the Lovely Sheila Sondergard who co-hosts the evening with Shawn Balch from Barfly.



Barfly is now going to have a band every Tuesday night as well! In addition to the Open Mic, they are booking for the showcase performer slot from 11pm-12am. Almost all genres are accepted. Full band hip hop is accepted if it has a positive message- No gangsta rap, no exceptions!



Bands who bring in a minimum of 20 people will receive $50 for a 45 minute performance, a $25 drink tab, and be allowed to sell CD's and merchandise, keeping 100% of those sales. Artists who can bring in more than 60 people for their showcan negotiate a better deal. All compensation will be fully dependent upon actual draw night of performance.
