Barrie New Music Fest

In a recent partnership, Admiral Entertainment and DOR Productions bring you the first annual Barrie New Music Fest.


The Barrie New Music Fest is a three-day live music festival held in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The festival is scheduled for October 2nd-4th, 2008 and will be held in various venues in the downtown area. Barrie New Music Festival prides itself on supporting the arts and the education and development of independent musicians. The festival will feature over fifty live artists performing a series of concerts/showcases each night in Barrie's finest live music venues. The genres of music ranges between venues but will include various rock, pop, folk, urban and acoustic acts. The festival will also include music industry seminars and musical workshops on Saturday October 4th.


Barrie New Music Festival is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for general performance consideration. There are three reserved slots for Sonicbids artists. A portion of the proceeds are going to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund. Music Therapy is a method of treatment which uses music to help people cope more effectively with their lives and challenges. Music therapists can encourage non-speaking children to communicate, youngsters who are emotionally upset to trust and people in hospices to find some respite from their loneliness and pain.
