Summary

Admiral Entertainment and DOR Productions bring you the second annual Barrie New Music Fest!

The Barrie New Music Fest is a live music venue festival in Barrie, ON, Canada scheduled for September 10th-13th, 2009. The festival will feature over 75 live touring artists performing a series of concerts/showcases at Barries finest live music venues (all participating venues will be announced in April 2009).

The festival will host the New Music Industry panel discussions (Saturday, September 12th) and the New Music Awards (Sunday, September 13th). A portion of the proceeds are going to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.

There are five reserved slots for Sonicbids artists.
All artists submitting material will be eligible for a chance to showcase their live material at the New Music Fest. At no extra charge, artists may also choose to have their recorded material judged to be nominated for a New Music Award in the categories listed (please select if you would like to be considered for a New Music Award and which award(s) you feel eligible for when submitting). New Music Awards (Optional) - Eligibility Criteria

For award nomination, all artists must be 100% Canadian with the exception of the Best International category

All artists must be independent from any labels with the exception of a distribution deal

Ontario artists are eligible for all categories

Canadian artists from outside of Ontario may apply for Best Out-of-Province

Artists from outside of Canada may only apply for the Best International

Artists from Ontario between the ages of 12 - 18 are eligible for the Best Young Songwriters category

The organizers of the New Music Awards reserve the right to add or remove categories in relation to the amount of compatible artists. All scores are compiled by an independent accounting firm.

**Applicants may select as many award categories in which they feel the artist may be eligible for.
