Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the Barrie New Music Fest, a live music festival in Barrie, ON, Canada featuring 110 artists/bands performing a series of concerts/showcases at Barrie’s finest live music venues. Submitting artists may also choose to have their recorded material judged to be nominated for a New Music Award. The festival will feature 110 artists/bands performing a series of concerts/showcases at Barrie’s finest live music venues (all participating venues will be announced in May 2010).



The festival will host the New Music Industry panel discussions (Saturday, September 18th) and the New Music Awards (Sunday, September 19th).



There are at least five reserved slots for Sonicbids artists. All artists submitting material will be eligible for a chance to showcase their live material at the New Music Fest.



At no extra charge, artists may also choose to have their recorded material judged to be nominated for a New Music Award in the categories listed (please select if you would like to be considered for a New Music Award and which award(s) you feel eligible for when submitting). New Music Awards (Optional) - Eligibility Criteria



For award nomination, all artists must be 100% Canadian with the exception of the "Best International" category. All artists must be independent from any labels with the exception of a distribution deal. Artists from outside of Canada may only apply for the "Best International". Artists from Ontario between the ages of 12-18 are eligible for the "Best Young Songwriters" category.

**Applicants may select as many award categories in which they feel the artist may be eligible for.



The organizers of the New Music Awards reserve the right to add or remove categories in relation to the amount of compatible artists. All scores are compiled by an independent accounting firm.



A portion of the proceeds are going to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
