BEAT Championship 2006

BEAT is the world’s premier Electronic and Hip Hop Song Championship. The annual championship provides an opportunity for emerging and established artists, bands, DJs, producers, and songwriters, to enter their songs in an international judging arena. The championship offers contestants with prime exposure to key industry professionals, specific to genre.



Additionally, BEAT connects song entries to a universal network of DJs, providing an opportunity for instant fans and buzz through club and radio play. DJs have the option to select music from the submissions for inclusion in live sets, upon consent from the artist/songwriter.



Contestants can submit music to win Grand Champion titles in each of 25 divisions:



House, Electro, Breakbeat/Drum & Bass, Funk/Disco, Trip Hop/Lounge, Ambient/Downtempo, Experimental/Industrial, Punk/New Wave, Pop/Indie, Techno, Trance, 2-Step/Garage, R&B/Soul, Hip Hop, Rap/Crunk, Underground Hip Hop, Gangsta/Hardcore, Turntablism/Instrumental, Dub/Reggae, Reggaeton, Latin, World Beat, Remix, Loop, and Other. One of the finalists will win the 2006 BEAT CHAMPION Title.



Starting as a Los Angeles emerging artist award showcase in 2003, BEAT has grown to a national, continental, and now worldwide competition. Prizes for Grand Champions and Beat Champion include over $10,000 in musical gear, merchandise, and services. Winning songs will be reviewed by a range of A&R label executives for possible signing, single release, or placement in a compilation. The 2006 BEAT CHAMPION will receive press, features, and showcases in a range of publications.



BEAT is dedicated to awarding the world's prime talent from bedroom producers to live MCs, performing artists and bands. This Championship is focused to beat-centric music, and the panelists of industry professionals are specific to the genres represented in all 25 divisions.
