Summary
Because of a misunderstanding with the listing text, Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival is extending a few days so that artists from all over the world that are interested can submit.
Each year the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival celebrates the art of song writing and the "Sister Cities" link between Belfast and Nashville. The artist with the winning song will earn a showcase at 5th Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, flight to/from Belfast NI (from anywhere), 6 nights of accommodations , Song Writing Convention pass, party pass and your song included on CD Promo.
Over the 5 days, more than 100 songwriters will perform in 30 concerts and Grammy Award winning hit writers such as Tia Sillers and Mark Selby will deliver 20 seminars and workshops on the art of song writing.
Internationally acclaimed writers from all over the world are brought in. Leading music industry individuals and organisations participate, including performance rights organisations BMI, ASCAP, PRS and IMRO. With several hundred writers attending the festival and convention, it is an excellent networking opportunity. There are many success stories of songwriters finding publishers and co-writers.
They are looking for original unpublished new songs from both amateurs and professionals.

Winning Songs will be announced at belfastnashville.com on Friday, December 12th, 2008. Winning songwriters will be notified by email or telephone.
Last year's featured writers included Nanci Griffith, Don Schlitz, Chris Difford (Squeeze) and Ricky Ross (Deacon Blue). Local songwriters included Ben Glover, Anthony Toner, Eilidh Patterson, Bap Kennedy and The Delawares to name just a few.
