Summary

Bergenfest is a modern music festival, voted best festival in Norway by the Norwegian Rock Festival Council. The event takes place in 10+ clubs across Bergen, Norway's second biggest city. The event draws 20,000-40,000 people and includes an open air portion and concert portion.

The 2009 festival, taking place from 28 April - 2 May, will feature headliner Bo Kaspers Orkester (SE), Hey Negrita (UK), Captain Bliss (UK) and many, many more artists, to be announced through February.

This year, for the first time, Bergen Fest will use Sonicbids to discover and select an artist and have them perform. All genres are welcome to submit - indie, hip-hop, country, blues, alternative, rock, metal - as long as the artist represents quality and creativity

Compensation, travel and accommodation are all possible but the specifics will depend on the artist. Compensation ranges from $1,000 - $10,000 for emerging artists.
