Berklee College of Music is looking to book at least one Sonicbids band or solo act for their official showcase at CMJ 2014, sponsored by Berklee and Vanyaland. These slots are ONLY open to acts that include alumni of Berklee College of Music. These slots are ONLY open to acts that include alumni of Berklee College of Music.
The Opportunity
Berklee is hosting its 8th Annual Official CMJ Music Marathon Showcase, Friday, October 24, 7:00 p.m. at Carroll Place in New York and is looking for exciting up-and-coming alumni acts to feature on the show. The expected number of attendees for the show is 120.
Preferred genres of submitting acts are Acoustic, Alternative, Americana, Bluegrass, Classic Rock, EDM, Folk, Funk, Hip Hop, Jm, Metal, Pop, Punk, R&B, Rock, Singer/Songwriter, and World.
The Band
- Submissions are open to acts from all over, but acts in or around NYC are preferred because travel assistance is not provided
- Preference given to bands who have not previously performed at a Berklee CMJ Showcase or Berklee SXSW Party
- Submissions will be reviewed by Berklee College of Music
- Acts submitting to this listing will NOT be considered for other CMJ Showcases
The Gig
Details:
- Sets run from 7pm-1am
- 30 minute sets with 15 minute set changes
- Mics, PAs, and monitors will be provided
- Basic backline will be provided
- Event is free to all Berklee alumni and one guest and CMJ badge holders. Non alumni will be charged $10 at the door
- Selected artists will receive badges for the entire CMJ Music Marathon conference and showcases (Oct. 21-25)
- Free drink tickets for the band. One ticket per member
- Berklee will not pay for band travel to/from NYC
- All bands will featured on all press releases that the college sends out
