Full-Tuition Scholarship for Berklee in Valencia Program

Berklee and Sonicbids have partnered to give a singer/songwriter a chance to win a scholarship to Berklee's Five-week Summer Performance Program running from July 9 through August 12 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. The top four finalists will travel to Berklee to perform in front of students and faculty on June 9, competing for the scholarship.

In the Five-Week Program, musicians will be immersed in all aspects of performance, playing in ensembles, developing improvisational and reading skills, improving technique in weekly private lessons, and more./n/nBerklee and Sonicbids have partnered to give a singer/songwriter a chance to win a scholarship to the Berklee in Valencia Singer/Songwriter and Vocal Program running from July 1 through July 3 in Valencia, Spain. One performer will be selected from online submissions and given a full ride to the program, including 450€ in tuition and a 100€ stipend to cover room and board.

The Berklee in Valencia Singer/Songwriter and Vocal Program gives musicians an unparalleled opportunity to explore songwriting, vocal technique, style, and performance—in a cosmopolitan setting where the musical worlds of Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean meet.

So now you want to know how to get there. Here’s the deal:

• Submit your application on Sonicbids for review by Berklee.




• Submissions will be judged on Songwriting (lyrics or instrumental), and Performance. Judges will be Berklee faculty, notable Spanish artists and industry professionals, and they will be reviewing your EPK as well, so make sure you keep it filled out and up-to-date.




• The winner will travel to Valencia, taking videos of their “Road to Berklee/Valencia” for Berklee staff and students, Sonicbids staff, fans and family to enjoy. These videos will be featured on a “Berklee & Sonicbids Battle foBerklee in Valencia Singer/Songwriter” website.




• Winner will be announced on June 10th.

Classes will include Singer/Songwriter Workshop, Melody Writing, Lyric Writing, Harmony and Arranging Your Music, Creating Your Own Demo and Recordings, Stage Performance Workshop, and Vocal Techniques, while you meet students and professionals from around the world at Berklee's first international campus in Valencia, Spain.
