Q Music Big Sound 2008 Artist Showcase

Music industry professionals from around the world will converge on Brisbane, Australia for Q Music's BIG SOUND music industry summit and artists showcase program from September 10-12. Big Sound is THE place to do business with the Australian music industry and make inroads into the vast Asia-Pacific market!

Fortitude Valley, the city's live music precinct will come alive for the 2008 artist showcase program and conference. A diverse and vital part of the conference, the showcase program gives artists the chance to have their music heard by some of the industry’s most important decision makers. Previous years have seen industry tastemakers such as Seymour Stein (Warner), Nic Harcourt (KCRW) and Michael Chugg in attendance, with great business results for showcasing artists.

Selection Criteria: To apply for BIG SOUND 2008 Showcase, you will be judged on the following criteria: • Promotional package (biography, photos, music, videos) • Sales history • Timing of recent release • Radio airplay • Industry vibe / external recognition • Existing deals (sync, label, touring, etc) • Recent touring history • Audience measures (including MySpace friends, Last FM spins, charts, etc)

Showcase spots will be available for Queensland, national and international acts.

Please note: There is no travel assistance available. Regional Qld artists are encouraged to apply and seek travel funding support for conference attendance.
