Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to BIG SOUND, which has grown to become the largest annual music event of its type in Australia, hosting 60 artists across 6 stages for 2 nights of music. The festival is expecting to reel in close to 2,500 attendees per night, and past performers include Bob Evans, The Middle East, and The Temper Trap. Sonicbids has worked with BIG SOUND to secure 5 performance slots for Sonicbids artist members./n/nNow in its ninth year, BIG SOUND has grown to become the largest annual music event of its type in Australia, hosting 60 artists across 6 stages for 2 nights of music. The festival is expecting to reel in close to 2,500 attendees per night, and past performers include Bob Evans, The Middle East, Temper Trap and many more.



Sonicbids has worked with BIG SOUND to secure 5 performance slots for Sonicbids artist members. Artists from a wide variety of genres are responsible for all costs associated with travel arrangements; however, at least 1 international artist(s) will be provided with $4k AUS travel assistance. Artists will need a visa, but Q Music/Big Sound will assist.

International guests include:

  • Peter Jesperson - Senior Vice-President of A&R at US label New West Records (Ben Lee, Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Kris Kristoffersen, Drive-By Truckers)

  • UK music lawyer Nicky Stein of Clintons Solicitors (Vampire Weekend, The Script, La Roux, Hot Chip, The Temper Trap, The Kooks)



Selected acts will have the chance to meet, talk and listen to the brightest lights in the music industry as they muse on topics from the emergence of new technology, to the viability of the Australian festival circuit. When the lights go down, over 50 of the country’s hottest bands will showcase their music to the world in some of Brisbane’s best venues.
