Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Conference Showcase & Competition

The Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Conference & Awards, now in its 7th year, will be held September 6-8, 2006 at The Renaissance Waverly hotel in Atlanta.



This 3-day event brings together the music professionals that help to create, produce, promote and distribute the hottest genre on the charts today. Attendees get face-to-face with over 700 key industry players for educational sessions, networking opportunities, expert roundtable discussions, live artist showcases, the first Billboard/Monitor R&B Hip-Hop Radio Awards, and the Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Awards.



Attendees include artists & managers, A&R reps, booking agents, club owners, corporate sponsors, concert touring companies, distributors, DJs, festival producers, fimmakers, Internet companies, manufacturers, new media representatives, press, producers, production companies, publishing companies, radio and television management, record label executives, record producers, record studios, retailers, songwriters, wholesalers and more!

There are 10 performance slots available. Select artists will be judged by a panel of industry experts, comprised of label heads, radio executives and producers. One act will be chosen as the "We Hear the Future" Billboard R&B Hip-Hop artist of 2006, and will receive a featured interview in Billboard! Genres accepted include R&B/Soul, Reggae, Hip-Hop and Rap/Crunk. Selected artists must pay a $2,500 showcase fee to participate.
