Summary

The 11th Annual Black Potatoe Music Festival, New Jersey's premier independent music festival, will be held at The Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, NJ, July 12-15, 2007. The festival, which originally began in 1997 by the artist-owned independent label Black Potatoe Records as a CD release party for the group Angus, has blossomed into a multi-day, two-stage, multi-act event. The festival is produced and hosted by Clinton, New Jersey natives Matthew Angus and Jack Devaney via Black Potatoe Records sister company, Atomic Productions. Atomic Productions has been presenting shows since 1996 at some of New Jersey finest venues. Last year we had acts from Reno to Nashville & from Texas to Canada. This year we look forward to you representing your state or country. "Demand your Independents"

Without catering to music industry trends, the Black Potatoe Music Festival has presented diverse acts from the national, regional, and local levels. The one rule is that you must be an independent artist or on an indie label (Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and side projects are the only exceptions). Past performers include Levon Helm of The Band, Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers Band, Andy Summers of The Police, Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane & Hot Tuna, The Matt Angus Thing, The Harlem Gospel Choir, Buckwheat Zydeco, Hayseed Dixie, Catie Curtis, Tony Levin, Kathy Phillips, Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, The Campbell Brothers, The Vivino Brothers from Late Night with Conan O Brien, Jimmy McGriff, Bernard Purdie, Jerry Jemmott, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas and dozens more.

Every artist is given great promotion through radio, print, and internet outlets in the New Jersey, New York and Eastern Pennsylvania markets. Plus, Black Potatoe’s merchandise team will sell your products for you at the festival. And because of the festival's central location between New York City (60 miles) and Philadelphia (75 miles), this is a great way to route other dates in the region. The opportunity for compensation is available to all artists.

2007 will mark the fourth year that the Black Potatoe Music Festival and Sonicbids have partnered for submissions. For 2007 Black Potatoe Records will ONLY accept submissions from Sonicbids EPKs. Sonicbids will be the official and only way to submit artists for the Black Potatoe Music Festival. Your submission WILL get reviewed fairly and thoroughly by committee.

P.S. Potatoe is spelled with an “e” because if you can become the Vice President of the USA and you spell potato wrong, you can do anything!
