Blackroom Records, a student-run record label, has been resurrected after a brief hiatus. With careful personal time spent with signed artists, Blackroom Records will largely contribute to the growth in an artist's career. They are located on the campus of Greenville College in Greenville, IL.
While accepting quality music from all genres, they currently have one folk artist, Zach Strout. Blackroom records also previously signed Urban Derivatives and For All the Drifters.
Blackroom Records aims to be a stepping-stone for the artist into larger labels and thus leans heavily towards benefiting them. Compensation for unsold CDs is expected from artist at the end of the one-year contract. BR splits CD royalties down the middle with the artist with no recoupment costs and ownership of master is given to artist at the end of the term. Available options to the artist is recording, management and booking.
