Summary

The Blues Bash, which takes place on November 4-5, 2006, was conceived as an annual event to introduce and promote the various styles of Blues music to the Taiwan. The event is organized by the Blues Society on Taiwan (BSoT), an affiliate of the Blues Foundation.



In 2005, the BSoT held two festivals. The first one took place in March in the city of Taichung. It featured Chicago Blues guitarist Joanna Connor and her band and Slovakian Dobro-player, Peter 'Bonzo' Radvanyi. The second one took place in November in the capital city, Taipei and featured Koko Taylor's lead guitarist, Shun Kikuta and Country Blues artist, Gabriel Gratzer from Argentina.



Compensation for selected artists includes performance fees, hotel accommodations and airfare. Additionally, the opportunity is great exposure in a foreign market. Last yearÂ’s attendance was estimated at 2,500. There are 4 performance spots at the festival open to Sonicbids members.



Previous sponsors have included Anheuser-Busch, Coca-cola, Gillette, 3M, Jim Beam, Daimler-Chrysler and Geant as well as private anonymous private contributors.
