Boston Music Spotlight is happy to introduce its first annual Battle of the Bands. Think you've got what it takes? All submissions will be reviewed by the Boston Music Spotlight staff. 10 bands will be chosen for online voting which will narrow the field to 5 finalists to perform live at Olivers Nightclub at the Cask and Flagon (Boston, MA) on September 18th. All bands must play original music and be based in the Boston area. Submit today for your chance to win big.


Boston Music Spotlight Battle of the Bands Grand Prize:

  • JamSpot will provide $1,000 worth of studio time, good for use towards recording, mixing, rehearsal time, and other services. Jamspot is a professionally designed digital rehearsal studio that has two convenient locations in Somerville and Wakefield, MA.


  • CD\Works has agreed to provide 250 CDs with a slim jewel case and a two-page insert. CD\Works is a leading provider of CD and DVD production services with a Boston area office in Beverly, MA.


  • Liz Linder Photography will provide a press and photo shoot for the top band. Ms. Linder has over 20 years experience in the photography business. She has worked with bands such as Aerosmith and Letters to Cleo, and her work has appeared in worldwide periodicals such as Rolling Stone Magazine and The New York Times.


    Finalist will have a half hour set to convince the judges that they deserve the title of Boston Music SpotlightÂ’s Best Band in Boston 2008 and compete for the amazing grand prize.

    In addition, every band that applies to the 2008 Boston Music Spotlight Battle of the Bands through Sonicbids will receive one hour of free rehearsal time at JamSpot.
