BOTS Entertainment Battle of the Sexes

Prepare for battle!

Battle of the Sexes: Men vs. Women in singing, rapping and poetry showcases is designed to present new artists a creative opportunity to gain exposure to industry representatives and talent buyers. It also serves as a fundraiser for Emmanuel Community House, Inc., a nonprofit of Detroit, MI. The event is held on the first Friday of every month at the Detroit Beer Company in Downtown Detroit, MI.


There are up to 20 showcase slots per show with 1 featured artist slot. Each show features singers, poets, rappers (core slots) bands, dancers, comedians, and more (additional for featured slots). Artists are allowed to perform 1-2 selections. The audience votes on whether the men or the women had the best talent for the night. Winners receive promotional material from our sponsors. If you are chosen to be a featured artist, you may perform 3-4 selections (15 min set). We ask that all material be radio edit (no cursing).

Genres accepted: Alternative, Dance, Gospel, Hip Hop, Jazz, NeoSoul, Rap, R&B, Rock, Spoken Word
