The Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion – one of the biggest festivals of its kind – is now accepting submissions for their 2009 festival on September 18-20. 200 performance slots are available on 15 stages throughout the festival grounds. These include outdoor stages, restaurants and coffee shops. Last year’s attendance jumped to over 23,000 people, and is expected hit 25,000 people this year.

Genres accepted include: Country, roots, bluegrass, blues, gospel, rock, celtic, and folk.

Compensation and lodging are negotiable at the time of booking.

In the past, festival goers have been treated to The Avett Brothers, International Bluegrass Music Association winners Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, and The Infamous Stringdusters . Other notables who performed at the Reunion include Doc Watson, Darrell Scott, Cherryholmes, and Sam Bush.

October 2001 marked the first annual Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, welcoming hundreds of artists and nearly 5,000 listeners to the city streets of Bristol, Tennessee. Country, roots, bluegrass and gospel artists came from around the region and nation for the three-day celebration. Restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and saloons opened their doors and welcomed in patrons to hear artists in intimate venues. Outdoor stages catered to larger groups, and impromptu jams on State Street broke out. The festival has more than quadrupled in size since then, and the 2009 Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion promises to be the biggest yet!
