This year will mark the 16th year of the annual festival, and if last year’s festival is any indication, will be a fantastic opportunity for blues acts to gain exposure in Bruthen and beyond. Past years lineups have included the likes of Ash Grunwald, Chris Wilson, Geoff Achison and Aussie roots/rock powerhouse Dallas Frasca.

The council is happy to accept submissions from overseas artists, but does not have the budget to fly them from other countries. Travel (within Australia), accommodations and meals are included, however, as part of a negotiated performance fee. Successful applicants are required to provide an ABN or ATO Statement by (hobbyist form). To assist the festival with their obligations to APRA, artists are required to provide a set list. It doesn't matter if artists deviate from it during the performance (such is the nature of art), but they need something close. Both are required to be provided before the artist is paid.

The Bruthen Arts & Events Council Inc., who hosts the festival, exists in part to bring art and entertainment to the town of Bruthen and to provide live performance opportunities for local musicians. The festival offers the opportunity to play at Australia's "biggest little blues festival," a much sought after addition to many blues artists’ resumes. The festival is a fun, family-friendly event in a picturesque township setting.
